About fifteen seats inside, fifteen more on the patio under the string lights, tucked down a walkway off Cottage Street.
BEER. Cocktails.
About fifteen seats, house infusions, barrel-aged cocktails on tap, and free popcorn, always. Open Memorial Day through October.
The Smoky Old Fashioned starts with a cedar plank set alight right at the bar. The glass fills with smoke and the drink is built inside it. Cocktail theater, at arm’s length.
Tessa Hartley runs the bar and the cocktail program behind it: house-infused spirits (lavender, jalapeño, oolong tea) and barrel-aged cocktails poured straight from the tap.
“If you want to see a professional mixologist/bartender/artist, go to the Cottage Street Pub”

The house cocktail, the bar’s namesake pour, and the first line of their Instagram bio. The recipe stays behind the bar, so you’ll have to take a seat and order one.
Sample menu based on public listings. The final site uses your current dishes and prices. No drink prices are posted anywhere; reviewers just call the cocktails “very moderately priced.”
Craft cocktails, local drafts, wine and free popcorn. Here’s the fine print, and there isn’t much of it.

Popcorn popped on site with the house seasoning, from the vintage machine at the end of the bar.
Seasonal
Open Memorial Day through October. Finback Alehouse, the year-round sister bar, covers the winter across the street.
Dale Stockburger grew up in Bar Harbor, spent twenty years in Portland, and came home. He ran Epi’s Pizza and Subs for four years, then bought the building on Cottage Street and opened the pub in May 2010.
In 2021 he bought Finback Alehouse across the street, the room where he had his first legal beer, a Beck’s Dark, on June 13, 1983, back when it was Bubba’s.
Behind the bar, Tessa Hartley runs the room and the cocktail program. Regulars know the crew by name: Tessa, Dale, Tammy, David and Nick.
“Fantastic original cocktails and a great atmosphere... ask for Dale!”
