From a gas station to Dolly Parton Parkway
A husband-and-wife team opened Delauder's BBQ in 2015, in a repurposed gas station on East Parkway, about four miles from downtown Gatlinburg. No frills and hard to find: counter ordering, country music, red-and-white checkered tablecloths.
The tiny dive made the national lists anyway. Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in 2017, Travel + Leisure's Top 25 BBQ in America in 2018, and rankings as high as #10 BBQ and #7 brisket in the country.
Landlord issues closed the Gatlinburg landmark at the end of September 2025, and that fall the family reopened at 1305 Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville. Bigger kitchen, fresh start, still only about four tables inside. The potato salad still comes from Denny's grandmother's recipe.
“We put love into everything we make.”
