Rosa's Trattoria
Lobster ravioli in saffron cream on a dark plate, steam rising, lit by a single candle

Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, Maine

Dinner starts at 4:30.

Handmade pasta every morning, Maine lobster every night. The same little dining room since 1998, steps from the harbor.

Flour-dusted hands guiding a sheet of fresh pasta through a hand-crank machine
Fresh sheets for the day's tagliatelle, rolled before the town wakes up.

Before the doors open

Rosa opened this little dining room on Cottage Street in 1998 with her mother's recipe book and a single pasta machine. Twenty-six years later, the machine still runs every morning. So does Rosa.

Everything that can be made in-house, is: the tagliatelle, the marinara that simmers all afternoon, the tiramisu that regulars call in to reserve before dinner.

We only make dinner.

Doors open at 4:30. By then the marinara has simmered all afternoon, and regulars have already called in to reserve tonight's tiramisu.
